Dusting of Winter chills....................

The newscast began announcing, "Winter Blizzard is
on the way!" We quickly ran down to the closest mall
to purchase some books at Barnes & Noble Bookstore.
We ran quickly only to discover some of the stores were
closed with signs on the windows......Closed for Blizzard.
However, we were blessed as Barnes & Noble did
not close early. Yea!
At the food court area we grabbed a hot dog on a
stick, filled packages with books, and magazines,
we now felt prepared to wait out the storm.

FIELD TRIP TO PROVO......

The Mission chartered a bus for us to attend the
art exhibit of "The Life of Christ" by James Tissot.
This is held at the BYU Museum in Provo.
Afterwards, the local stake prepared delicious sack
lunches for us to eat on the bus. I kinda felt like
I was a student again in Kryene Elementary School.

THE HOLIDAY VISIT......

Grandpa and Eli stroll the grounds.
"Don't walk to fast for me, Grandpa."

Eli is curious about everything around him.
He especially enjoyed playing with a green
apple that had fallen from the tree, and
Grandma's orange Halloween Medal.

Ivy, on the other hand, was a wild woman when
she helped Grandma create a Gingerbread House
any gourmet cook would be proud of..........ok, maybe
a house any grandmother would love!

Goodnight sleep tight.........don't let the bed bugs bite!

Decorating for the Holidays

Temple Square is getting ready for
1.5 million visitors in the next six weeks.
The Beehive House now has the
Christmas Tree with the exterior
lighting to come this week. Yesterday
we saw Christmas candles floating in the
reflection pool by the Temple. Wow!
Everyday we discover some new
decoration being placed somewhere
on the square.
The Christmas lights will be turned on the
day after Thanksgiving. Now is a great
time to come visit us............just
be sure to bring lots of warm clothes.

THE SNOW ARRIVES.......

The snow came bringing temperatures in the middle
40's for the high today. Last night we were without
power for over 4 hours. Glad we purchased some
really warm thick blankets the other day at Costco.
God Bless Costco! It was kind of funny to see all the
flashlights being used to break through the darkness....
we knew at a glance who had their 72 hours
Emergency Preparedness Kit and who didn't.....ours is
in Arizona.........OOOOPS!

HOMES IN OUR AREA..........

One thing different about Salt Lake City
is........... no two homes are alike. It is fun
to just walk everywhere and see homes
built long ago.........Which one do you
want?
While looking at the old homes, we found this
parked in someone's front yard.......now I believe I
could get into one of these side cars and enjoy a ride
through the city...........countryside?
First, I need to find myself a styling hat for this trip.
Wait Nikki gave me one for my birthday.....how about
a set of ear muffs......gloves......boots........toe
warmers.......this could be an expensive ride!
