FIELD TRIP TO PROVO......

The Mission chartered a bus for us to attend the
art exhibit of "The Life of Christ" by James Tissot.
This is held at the BYU Museum in Provo.
Afterwards, the local stake prepared delicious sack
lunches for us to eat on the bus. I kinda felt like
I was a student again in Kryene Elementary School.

THE HOLIDAY VISIT......

Grandpa and Eli stroll the grounds.
"Don't walk to fast for me, Grandpa."

Eli is curious about everything around him.
He especially enjoyed playing with a green
apple that had fallen from the tree, and
Grandma's orange Halloween Medal.

Ivy, on the other hand, was a wild woman when
she helped Grandma create a Gingerbread House
any gourmet cook would be proud of..........ok, maybe
a house any grandmother would love!

Goodnight sleep tight.........don't let the bed bugs bite!

Decorating for the Holidays

Temple Square is getting ready for
1.5 million visitors in the next six weeks.
The Beehive House now has the
Christmas Tree with the exterior
lighting to come this week. Yesterday
we saw Christmas candles floating in the
reflection pool by the Temple. Wow!
Everyday we discover some new
decoration being placed somewhere
on the square.
The Christmas lights will be turned on the
day after Thanksgiving. Now is a great
time to come visit us............just
be sure to bring lots of warm clothes.

THE SNOW ARRIVES.......

The snow came bringing temperatures in the middle
40's for the high today. Last night we were without
power for over 4 hours. Glad we purchased some
really warm thick blankets the other day at Costco.
God Bless Costco! It was kind of funny to see all the
flashlights being used to break through the darkness....
we knew at a glance who had their 72 hours
Emergency Preparedness Kit and who didn't.....ours is
in Arizona.........OOOOPS!

HOMES IN OUR AREA..........

One thing different about Salt Lake City
is........... no two homes are alike. It is fun
to just walk everywhere and see homes
built long ago.........Which one do you
want?
While looking at the old homes, we found this
parked in someone's front yard.......now I believe I
could get into one of these side cars and enjoy a ride
through the city...........countryside?
First, I need to find myself a styling hat for this trip.
Wait Nikki gave me one for my birthday.....how about
a set of ear muffs......gloves......boots........toe
warmers.......this could be an expensive ride!

Saturday Morning Walk continues....

Marshall, we even found a restaurant for you. I
believe we could eat out everyday for the next two
years and still not hit every great restaurant within
walking distance of our apartment. We love exploring
our area on our way to work each day. Our car is
normally driven only one day a week for lunch
with Dee. I could really get into a lifestyle like this.
Walks in the morning, and giving service in the afternoon
and evening hours...........................love it!

ANOTHER FUN P-DAY ACTIVITY

Annette sent us a list of places her friend suggested
we try............of course we couldn't resist...........
THE SWEET TOOTH FAIRY!

Their small cake bites were featured
on the Rachael Ray Food Network
Channel. Madison you would love making
these...........sorry no picture..........we
ate them too quickly.

A FALL WALK ON P-DAY

A warm (60 degrees) fall day we leave our
apartment for a walk to enjoy the colorful leaves.
On Temple Square we have huge elm trees with bright
orange, and yellow leaves. We walked down the
path and were covered from head to toe with the
leaves descending on us from the trees above.

This is a park that surrounds condos in downtown
Salt Lake City............

Belgium in downtown SLC

We saw this restaurant advertized in a Costco
store near us. We can't wait to eat here.

A man and his brother-in-law, who are
from Belgium, own this quaint sidewalk
cafe close to our house.
They make waffles and lots of sandwiches
that are stacked with french fries on top.
Also, they serve numerous dipping
sauces and Utah Fry Sauce as well.
Got Breakfast? Got Lunch? Got time?
