A Snowy Walk on P-Day

This is City Hall.........
We discovered this building on our
walk to the Salt Lake Library.

We try to do several hours of walking
on every p-day just to discover the sights
of the city.

Tena loaned me this warm winter hat.
This day, I really needed it!

Christmas on Temple Square.......

Elder Moore's recent purchase at the local Scottish
store near our home included a new hat and matching
scarf. The Sisters were worried about Elder Moore's
bald head freezing.....now all is well in the land!

Gingerbread Houses we loved.........

I believe Devin's favorite part was the gingerbread
houses. The house below is from a University of Utah
fan. Numerous displays included fans from UofU
and BYU.

This Tahitian gingerbread house really caught my
eye. Notice the roasting pig in the front yard.

I think I want to do the "Three Little Pigs". Strawberry
marshmallows give you the pink color you need.

Festival of Trees.....Utah Style

The Coates family share their traditions with us.
We attend the Festival of Trees together
and saw..........
  • 800 decorated trees
  • Gingerbread Village
  • Aisles of Christmas Wreaths
  • A Sweet Shoppe

Below you can see some of my favorite trees...

I loved this bench so much, I forgot to take

a picture of the Mickey Mouse tree that went with it!

I think I'll try this when I get home...
A tree for each holiday, Halloween,
Easter, 4th of July.........what do you
think?

The pink tree is for Jessica......and finally
who wouldn't love a Gingerbread tree?

Christmas at the Beehive House...........

Come visit and see all the holiday delights at Temple
Square. Their garland is made with fresh fruit only....
nothing plastic here. The bottom picture was taken
at our Thanksgiving Dinner with all the people who
serve in the South Zone. (notice Elder Moore and I
have matching purple shirts)

Girl in Hyacinth Blue

Girl in Hyacinth Blue by Susan Vreeland.
Great book for a winter's storm. Curl up
with the book, make some healthy
vegetable soup, with sweet potatoes,
(but don't tell Dad) and a very, chilly
cold glass of milk. I selected this book,
because Annette had recommended it.
Ditto, ditto, ditto, for me. I couldn't
stop reading and it was eleven o'clock
at night. Our morning started at 5:00
the next day, but it just didn't matter.
Finishing this book was all that did.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KYLE!

Happy 12th Birthday Kyle. How does it feel to be
passing the sacrament on Sunday?

MORE THAN A DUSTING.......

Fifteen inches of snow and all we had to dig the car out
with was one plastic dust pan. I think once the weather
clears perhaps an investment in a shovel would be a
good thing.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE!

Happy Birthday Joe.......
We had so much fun doing this
photo shoot on a stormy August
afternoon. Love that monsoon
weather.

A GOOD BOOK FOR A BLIZZARD........

This is the book we purchased at
Barnes & Noble Bookstore during
the recent Blizzard. The message
of this book is the power of
forgiveness. I couldn't put this
book down.

THE BLIZZARD CAME...........

Samples of the dusting of snow that came
with the blizzard. Now that it is winter,
the snow doesn't melt very easy. This
is view out of back office window at the
Lion House. Love, love, love the
crispness of the air. Your cheeks turn a
delightful shade of pink, but your nose
never stops running.....amazing life we
live!
