The Family

I am so grateful for our blessings. Yesterday, a young

Elder stood and talked about his blessings. He

shared, "I was born into a family that is very poor.

I remember one day when we had no food to

eat. Finally, my mother found 2 quarters between

the cushions of the couch and purchased a bottle

of milk for us to drink. He expressed his love for

his family and the miracle of being able to serve a

mission. I paused and thought of my blessings and

my family. I gave thanks!

Things a Missionary leaves behind...

Missionaries are expected to make sacrifices

in their life. I never imagined how hard

it will be leaving behind the ones you love.

Last night at dinner, we had six young girls

come up to us and tell us they were heading

to Temple Square to be guides just like us.

They promised to look for us on Saturday when

they arrive. Now we leave behind the

family we love, and we gain 200 young women

to watch over. Our new journey is about

to begin.

Tena, I love you!

Mickey called and said, "Ivy, remembers her

Grandpa and her Grandma every night in

her prayers. However, last night she added

one more thing to her prayers. She asked the

Lord to bless her Grandma and Grandpa and

also bless Utah."

The Mission Call

We will be serving our 23 month mission

as tour guides on Temple Square. Wow!

Conference calls are held for the

two sisters who live in other states.

Jessica had the more creative guess....

she guessed Mongolia because that was

the largest piece of land that was in the

color of purple. How cute is that?

Nikki and Mickey guessed Salt Lake City and

won the grand prize of a $50.00 gift

certificate from Target.
